Fall Nationals Goes to Metro BMX in Bakersfield

Bakersfield Metro BMX

The location of the Fall Nationals was the last mystery outstanding in the 2017 USA BMX National Schedule. Many thought we would be back at Lake Perris, or Chula Vista…Or maybe back in Florida like in the Disney Cup days. All speculation, of course, because the race has been awarded to Metro BMX in Bakersfield, CA.

So, mark your calendars for September 15-17, and get ready to groove down the Grapevine, and into the San Joaquin Valley. Bakersfield is about 120 miles from LAX, if you’re flying in (which can take anywhere between two and six hours, if fighting that infamous LA traffic).

Metro was just rebuilt, and will have paved turns by the time the national comes to town. USA BMX says pre-registration is now open for the race, and hotel information will be posted in the near future. The race has not, to this point, been designated a Pro Series race, and no announcement contradicting that was made today.

The remaining Pro Series races for 2017 are South Park, Mile High, Derby City, Black Jack and Willemstad, Curaçao in late October, before we finish it up in Tulsa over Thanksgiving.
