Kevin Pauls and Supercross Part Ways
Kevin Pauls joined Factory Supercross after the 2016 Grands, to much fanfare among team watchers. News reported the story on December 13, and all appeared to be solid, as KP showed up in Las Vegas for the first race of the year in his Factory SX kit.
Last week, a BMX News tipster sent in word that they saw Kevin out at Rock Hill, putting in some track time–but in a plainwrap Vans jersey, and riding last year’s Haro Carbon frame. Say WHAT?
We checked it out and, yes, ’tis true: Kevin and Supercross have parted ways–but remain “good friends.”
Here’s what Kevin told news, via Facebook message:
I had imagined that the switch over to Supercross would have been my first and last, but it is unfortunate that things did not go the way we planned. As we approach the Carolina Nationals this weekend, you can spot me in my custom Potter Racing jersey that Doug Potter was generous enough to whip up for me on such a short notice. Although I’ll have “Mommy & Daddy” listed as my sponsor, I’ll be scouting for a spicy new home.
If you’ve been around BMX for longer than a 300-moto Saturday, you know that these things happen. We wish Kevin and the Supercross crew all the best.
