Jamie Lilly Joins Factory Team Bikes

Jamie Lilly Joins Factory Team Bikes
We first saw Jamie Lilly back on the track at the 2016 USA BMX Fall Nationals in Lake Perris. She took the win on Saturday in 41 & Over Women, which sure looked good. On to Tulsa, and Jamie took her plain-wrap kit to second place in the Grands main event (31-40 Women).

If you don’t know Jamie, take note. Her list of BMX accomplishments is super-deep, and spans four decades (even though she’s only 33, she started racing in 1988 so that gives her some racing in the 80s). She has a long list of amateur accomplishments, won the 2000 UCI Junior Women title, then went on to win ABA National #1 Pro Woman in 2000 and 2003.

Now that she’s back, teams were quick to take notice at the Grands, and we’re here today, ahead of the 2017 season opener, to announce that she will be riding for Factory Team Bikes (FTB).

FTB BMX is an established brand in the UK. Its founder, Mike Wong, moved to the USA last summer, and is working to establish this brand, and Dialled Bikes, his Mountain Bike brand, on this side of the pond.

Here’s what Mike and Jamie had to say about the big news:

Jamie Lilly is a rider whose place in BMX history is already secured due to being one of the most winning female racers of all time. When the opportunity arose to work with someone with Jamie’s pedigree, professionalism and wealth of experience, it seemed like a great collaboration. Hopefully, our partnership with Jamie will help Jamie add to her already impressive legacy in cycle sport, help the FTB BMX and Dialled Bikes’ brands gain recognition in the US after recently relocating here from the UK, and give our younger team riders an opportunity to learn from someone who has been there, done that, and won many major titles.
—Mike Wong, Founder & CEO of FTB Dialled Bikes LLC:

After getting a taste of racing again at the Grands in November, I got the bug and decided to do a full season in 2017. I was approached by Mike to ride for FTB and Dialled Bikes, and I am so excited about this opportunity and appreciate Mike’s faith in me. After building the bikes and having a chance to ride them, I was really impressed not only by the way they rode, but also their quality. I couldn’t be more stoked for the season to come.

A big BMX News congratulations to Mike and Jamie on starting 2017 on the good foot (which has the added-benefit of being a well-placed inside joke, since Jamie is also a marketing honcho with SIDI shoes).

We look forward to seeing Jamie jammmin on her FTB scoot at a race, very soon (maybe sooner than later)!
