Eddy King Improving in LA-Area Hospital
We have held this one back for a week or so, waiting for some good news to report. As many of you know, BMX Legend Eddy King was critically injured in a Mountain Bike accident in Big Bear (CA) on October 6.
We have been monitoring King Edward’s progress daily on Facebook, via friends, and on the CaringBridge site set up to keep friends and fans apprised of his condition and progress (link below).
Since the accident, thousands of friends, fans an well-wishers from around the world have commented, and offered up prayers and support for our friend’s speedy recovery.
Yesterday, one week into the recovery process, Eddy posted the following from his hospital bed:
To all those concerned about my mental state, it’s rock solid. I’ve always lived by the motto, “No matter how bad you have it, there is always someone out there that has it worse than you.”
The accident left his spinal cord “bent and squashed,” but not severed, which is awesome. Every day brings new progress, and new challenges…but the man has the determination and “fight” of a champion, and we know he will take this challenge in hand and win in the end.
BMX News will keep you posted on his progress as it…well…progresses.
Meanwhile, get the latest on Eddy’s journey back on CaringBridge.org
