The Dan’s Comp team rolled into Tulsa with high hopes to end 2011 with a few more titles. Also on-site at the ABA Grands was a brand new Dan’s Comp vending trailer and tent. This was the first time Dan’s has been at a national in many years, and racers packed the aisles, snapping up deals and early Christmas gifts.

On Friday, the ROC started off with a big win for Matt Pohlkamp, as he and Javier Colombo put on a great show as always. Alden Volle continued his consistent winning ways with podiums in Jr Devo and the ultra-tough 15x class.

The Pro Spectacular on Saturday night featured the Matt & Javi Vet Pro show again with Matt winning one main and Javi the other two, for the overall win of the night. Matt’s second place finish was enough to capture the 2011 Vet Pro Title. Congrats to Matt! Every race in this class is always so much fun to watch and the competition is fierce with so many talented guys.

Besides the excitement of determining all of the Pro titles, the bragging rights for the Amateurs in the NAG 5 challenge is one of the most anticipated races of the weekend. Justin Posey had his sights set on winning this race since early in the year, and made it happen. Congratulations Justin, you worked hard for that one! Not to be outdone by his older teammates, Alden Volle came up the big winner in the pit bike race and had all of the riders wondering how he was still pedaling–this was one long track!

Sunday’s races, as always, lived up to the hype as the “Greatest Race on Earth.” When the day was over Dan’s had two more titles to add to an already-amazing year. Scott Moreland won the 41 and over expert main and title; and Justin Posey grabbed the 17-18x title (but had to settle for second place in the grands main, behind his good friend & ultra-tough competitor, Jared Garcia)

Alden was on fire all weekend but had tough luck in his semi for class. Still, he put in a solid effort in 15-16 open. Alden has been spending a lot of time racing motorcycles with great success and still manages to be a tough competitor in the deep-with-talent 15x class.

Weston Pope was still on the injured list from his spleen injury at the Disney race, but he helped out the team as coach, water boy and overall supporter of Dan’s Competition and his racing buddies. Weston was having a great year with solid performances in London & Chula SX races until he was injured. Look for big things from him in the new year.

The boys in green would like to send out a HUGE thanks to the crew at Dan’s HQ for all of the support and great times in 2011. It was great to share our big weekend with all the guys.

We would also like to thank our sponsors for all of the help and confidence in us. Fly Racing, Diamondback, Supercross, GHP, Ssquared, Answer BMX, Alienation, Tangent, Speedline, and Maxxis.
