The 2011 Supercross BMX “Edilog”

September 1, 2011 by BMXNEWS.COM Editors

2012 Supercross BMX Catalog

Take catalog, and mix in a heapin helpin of editorial content, more befitting of a magazine, and you have an “Editorial Catalog,” or Edilog.

We’ve seen a fair number of them in our time, but the one that Bill Ryan is about to loose on the world gets the five-star rating, with a blue ribbon underneath it.

The 64-page publication will hit the streets in its physical form at the upcoming Interbike Trade Show in Las Vegas next month. But BMX News readers can get a sneak preview of the goods right now in electronic form.

Between the covers, it has everything you would ever want to know about the Supercross product line, including geometry, weight and available colors of their Race, Freestyle and Mountain product lines. It also has some great action photography, and editorial features, like an interview with Bubba Harris, Kenth Fallen, Courtney Tomei, Nate Padilla, Jeremy “The General” Rommel and Dani George..and a really cool “How It’s Made spread on their Racerhead stems. Much more, but we don’t want to give too much away.

All the good stuff is just a click away, so get about it!

Inside the 2012 SUpercross Catalog

How long did it take you to do the design/production?

Full thing took 10 days for everything. Started on it Saturday the 13th at
about 6 in the evening, and finished up Wed the 24th at noon. From Sunday
the 21st at 6:30 a.m until Wednesday the 24th at 11:45 at night, there was
no sleep! That was crunch time!!

Any particular “fuel” (food, drink, music, etc) involved in getting it done?

Music was cranking for sure, Wugazi, Motley Crue, Tool, the new Red Hot
Chili Peppers Album ( Go buy it today ) Tricky, the ipod was on shuffle and
had a ton of great music going.

And I picked a bad time to kick energy drinks and coffee, there were none
consumed during the building of the catalog, but a BIG cup of Hazlenut
Coffee with a dab of caramel was downed as soon as it was done!!

What tools? (Mac, Indesign CS5, etc)

All Mac based, mainly my old trusty iMac G5, running CS3, Photoshop,
Illustrator and InDesign

How many copies?

We had the printer do up 500 to take to Reno and the NBL Grands, another
2,000 for Interbike and it will be a total of 10,000 copies.
