UCI Worlds Registration Deadline Looms

It may be fashionable to be late for a party, but don’t be late to this one…You have two days to get your registration in for the 2011 UCI World Championships in Copenhagen. Team USA needs all hands on deck for this one, so if you made the main last year in South Africa, or qualified at the National Championships in Chula Vista last month, now’s the time to plunk down your green for the red, white and blue.

Registration is open now for all riders planning to compete at the 2011 UCI BMX World Championships and Challenge scheduled for July 25-31 in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Qualified riders who hold a valid USA Cycling International BMX license can register online through their “My USA Cycling ” account.

Once you are logged in, click on the 2011 World BMX Challenge registration link (Only qualified riders with active BMX licenses will see this link). The registration fees are $258 each for both Challenge Standard 20” entries and Challenge Cruiser 24” entries. The registration fee for the Championship Class Standard 20” entry is $283. Fees include TravMed insurance, as well as one Team USA jersey per entry.

In order to qualify, a rider must have advanced to the main of his or her event at the 2010 World Challenge in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa OR recorded a top-16 finish at the 2011 USA Cycling BMX National Championships held last month in Chula Vista, Calif.
