Rennen/Intense Oldsmar Race Report
Rennen/Intense swept the Factory Team wins in chilly Oldsmar, Florida this past weekend. Here’s how your favorite team rider fared at the 2011 ABA Gator Nationals:
Shawn DiPrete (36-40x & Cru): Rode consistently on the tough tournament course, scoring four 2nd’s for the weekend.Alex Anthony (A pro): Took the win in single A pro on Day 1 of the National and is quickly working his way to the “AA” pro ranks.
Austin Loebe (17-18x – Jr Men): Our birthday boy took a pair of seconds over the course of the weekend. One in the Jr Elite Men on Day 1 and the other in 17/18 expert.
Max Egdorf (19-27x): Took a big win on day 2, his second of the season.
Nicole Mitchell (8 girls): Dominated the 20″ class taking both wins for the weekend.
Erik Meyer (11x): Midwest muscle showed up strong in Oldsmar, owning the class and taking the top spot both days.
Courtney Applewhite (Elite Women): Rode strong and scored a place in day 2′s Elite Women’s main event.
Justin Knapper (14x): First ABA race as a big time rider and as expected the transition was a little rough. In the cold of the evening on day 1, he took a 4th. Understanding the environment a little better on day 2, he holeshot the main and led till he ejected himself from the course. With the first one “under his belt” look for Justin to be back soon for more action.
Cam Moore (13x): Made all of his mains and continues to show the skill and speed of a champion.
Nate Coyman (8x & Cru): Made all four of his mains over the course of the weekend, having not ridden much since the fall.
Will Murray (Vet Pro): Fresh off newlywed status, this race was Will’s first as a married man. He was a factor in both days main events with a pair of 5th’s.
C.J. Fisher (15x & Cru): Made all four of his main events and rode the tournament course like a champ.Looking to continue our early-season success, we’ll be pulling a dual race team effort in March. NBL-wise we’ll be at Shayne Robinson’s track in Peachtree City, GA just south of Atlanta, for the next installment of the team “Cat 2″ series; ABA-wise we’ll be in Surprise, AZ for the UCI/Pro series race on the weekend of March 19th & 20th.
