Podcast: Creating the Bible of BMX Skills
BMX News first became familiar with Lee McCormack after a chat with Brian Lopes at the 2008 ABA Hall Of Fame luncheon in Tulsa. Brian and Lee had collaborated on the book “Mastering Mountain Bike Skills,” and Brian said he was great to collaborate with. Fast forward a year, to December 2009. Lee contacted BMXNOW to talk about some photos for his new book, “Pro BMX Skills,” and we were happy to oblige. From Lee’s brief description of his vision for the project at the time, it was clear to us that we would be seeing some great stuff from the mountain-top hideaway where Lee does his writing.
Punch the remote one more time, and skip to the next chapter in the saga, to December 2010. Lee’s book is finished, printed and ready to ship. From an advance copy that News obtained, we can report with certainty that it was everything we thought it would be.
In this episode of Announcers Tower, Lee sits down with us to talk about the book, how it all came together, and what it endeavors to teach all of us about riding a BMX bike, both for fun and profit.
