This news is a couple weeks old, but still isn’t beyond its freshness date. Richard Huvard, the marketing mixologist who was once a force in bringing the Redman team up to full wattage will, once again, be back among the tribe in 2011. In a release NEWS obtained recently, Redman Bikes USA said:

Redman Bikes USA is proud to announce the addition of Richard Huvard as General Manager of the Redman/Rockstar Factory BMX Team.

For seven seasons, as team manager for AC/Redman (2000) and the Redman/Yamaha Waverunner Factory Team (2001-2006), Mr. Huvard helped build what has arguably been one of the most dominant, successful BMX race programs of the past decade—winning 3 ABA Factory Team Titles as well as the 2006 UCI World Team Championships.

Redman factory riders who have ridden for Huvard have won countless National Age Group titles and several National titles. Before his tenure with Redman, Huvard managed the Diamondback Factory BMX Team from 1996-1999. “Richard and I have a very long history of success together,” stated Mike Redman. “Like any partnership, we’ve had our ups and downs. But we shared a common commitment to always put the best program on the track. I look forward to having him back on the team as we strive to keep the championships coming.”

In addition to his role as GM, Huvard’s branding and design agency, NeedThree, will also be directing Redman’s marketing and advertising strategies. “After a few years away from the national race scene, I found myself contemplating the idea of getting back into the game,” Huvard explained. “A number of opportunities presented themselves, but when it came down to where, if anywhere, I wanted to be, the answer was obviously my home with Mike and the Redman race program. As General Manager, I look forward once again to building on the winning tradition of the Tribe, both for Redman Bikes and our sponsors.”

Lots of cool moves being made by industry heavyweights in 2011. Going to be an fun-filled season, of that we’re sure.
