Just got this release from USAC regarding open practice for US Citizens registered for the Chula Vista SX.

USA Cycling will offer open sessions on the Supercross BMX track at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, Calif. prior to round three of the UCI SX BMX World Cup. All active USA Cycling members born 1994 or earlier who are pre-registered to compete in the Chula Vista SX World Cup are eligible to petition for participation in the sessions.

Three open track sessions are scheduled for the following dates: Aug. 7-8, Aug. 14-15 and Aug. 28. Each day will consist of two sessions each day; a morning session from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and an evening session from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

All interested riders must make a formal request via email to coach Jeff Glynn at: usacbmx@att.net. These open training sessions will be by invitation only and the coaching staff will contact those riders who have been selected 24 hours after the deadline expires.

Registration deadlines for training sessions are as follows:

* Session #1 — Aug 4, 5:00 p.m. PST
* Session #2 — Aug 6, 5:00 p.m. PST
* Session #3 — Aug 20, 5:00 p.m. PST

All interested parties MUST be U.S. citizens with valid USA Cycling license, born 1994 or earlier and be pre-registered for round three of the UCI SX BMX World Cup set for Chula Vista, Sept. 17-19, to be considered to participate in these open track sessions. Registration for the Chula Vista SX World Cup is open and all active members can register for the event by logging on to their profile account at www.usacycling.org under the “My USA Cycling” link.

The open track sessions will cost $50 per day and will be paid through USA Cycling’s online registration system. The fee will cover costs for sports medicine staff, which will be on-site for all sessions, and insurance coverage. The sessions will provide access to the SX BMX track only; not including any access to housing, dining, or use of other athletic facilities. There will be absolutely no walk-ons and all participants will be responsible for all travel related expenses. All USA Cycling and United States Olympic Committee forms must be correctly filled out (including minors) and completed before use of the track. The coaching staff will collect all forms at the check in area (TBD) where riders must receive a credential.

Please contact Jeff Glynn with any questions. We look forward to seeing you in Chula Vista.
