NBL Adds Elite Dates to 2010 Schedule

The drums started beating on the VintageBMX.com “BMX Racing” forum yesterday, as the NBL announced the addition of four new Elite series dates to their in-progress 2010 schedule.

The release on the NBL website said:

The NBL has added four (4) Elite Series races to the 2010 schedule.

The Gator Nationals in Tampa, FL; Dixieland Nationals in Lexington, SC; and the Constitution Classic in Trumbull, CT are now all Elite Series races.

The West Last Chance Qualifier in Prunedale, CA is also an Elite race on August 15.

As you might expect there was immediate and vigorous commentary on this, bringing more than 1500 views and 60 responses in less than 24 hours. Some were in favor of the move, while others were of the opinion that, perhaps, fewer Elite races with larger purses would better accomplish the NBL’s ends.
