…with a twist.

Earlier this week, the USAC announced the eight “funded” US riders who would be attending the next and final (calendar 2009) stop on the UCI BMX Supercross tour. They were:

Men
Nic Long (Lakeside, Calif.)
David Herman (Wheat Ridge, Colo.)
Connor Fields (Henderson, Nev.)
Corban Sharrah (Tucson, Ariz.)

Women
Arielle Martin (Spanaway, Wash.)
Alise Post (San Diego, Calif.)
Amanda Geving (Largo, Florida)
Brooke Crain (Visalia, Calif.)

But… Turns out Connor has SATs that week, and is doing the right thing by his studies. That left a seat open. Word round the campfire was that Denzel Stein was next in consideration, but also had school-related commitments keeping him off the plane. Thus, Joey Bradford will step in for the Stars & Stripes to round out the contingent of double-F-Fast Americanos (or whatever that would be in French). Congrats to all that made it! To all those going, please keep us posted via twitter @bmxnow to let us know how things are progressing.

For Active USAC BMX Champion Class riders NOT in the “Eight Pack,” if you’re planning on going to Frejus, you can register now by logging on to your “My USA Cycling” account. Entry fee is $165 and is open until 5:00 pm MST on September 30, 2009.
