Orange Crush wins ERA Time Trial Gold & Silver

September 6, 2008 by BMXNEWS.COM Editors

Kingston, Ontario – The first-ever ERA Pro race kicked off on Friday and the track is a one-of-a-kind. Jay Miron and Tom Ritzenthauler put together a unique style of track that had the riders buzzing. The first jump has been the most contreversial and has changed form three or more times. It's a step-up to almost flat landing and the face of the step was orginally made of concrete block. It changed on Thursday to a wood-faced front a few feet closer and then after 3 bent wheels and a dozen popped tires, it has now returned to dirt form.

Time Trials went on Friday and due to the issues with the first jump, organizers decided to make the trials 'optional'. J-Rich was one of the riders to opt out and took to the mic instead. He kept the fans and riders laughing for almost 2 hours straight. His best line of the day was saying that the Dutch riders should all be sponsored by Vans Shoes.

And speaking of the Dutch, Van Der Beizen and Van Den Wildenburg were one-two in the time trials. Redline made it a sweep with Denzel Stein whizzing in for third. Check out the photos and check back later for more. Organizer Jay Miron was testing this jump on Thursday and crashed hard and was not able to be at the track on Friday – hope he's able to make it on Saturday. More pics below >
