UK News – 2008 Red Bull Empire of Dirt is on

Red Bull's 2008 Empire of Dirt returns to Devon, England this upcoming summer, just a tad bit later in the season to ensure that no rain interferes with the event. Last year's inaugural EOD was canceled the day before the event due to inclement weather, so the 2008 version will essentially be the world's first BMX dirt slopestyle comp. The event is scheduled for July 25-26, 2008, transpiring on the hillside of a farm in Newton Abbot U.K.

Last year, the innovative course, which swallowed thousands of tons of dirt, took more than a month to build and featured a huge dirt superpipe, and ridiculous twin wall rides, sent shockwaves through the BMX world, and attracted riders from all over the world, including Brian Foster, Gary Young, and Corey Bohan.
