Is Steven Cisar the Future of BMX – Now?

March 6, 2008 by BMXNEWS.COM Editors

thumb_cisarhead.jpg With all the Olympic hub-bub and focus on riders like Donny Robinson, Kyle Bennett and Mike Day, it's a bit tough to sift through all the hype to see the next generation of BMXer's coming through. Joey Bradford, Alise Post, Denzel Stein and Nic Long come mind and their time will come soon but Redman's Steven Cisar already arrived. And this guy has enough style to go around for everyone. Get in line.

He may not have the corporate presence of DR or the model stylings of Matt Pohlkamp but he does an edge – something that has always been a part of every BMXer who has ever made a name for himself/herself. He has quickly grown into a contender and despite being a mysterious no-show at the UCI race in Arizona, finds himself ranked no. 3 in USA's Olympic qualification matrix.

At the recent USA Olympic Training center soiree' he was the first one in line to do the inaugural lap for the opening ceremony but there was more to Cisar's presence than just that. Walking back up the long flight of stairs to reach the top of the 26-foot starthill, Cisar stopped at the mid-point landing and did a set of push-ups. Bennett, Robinson and Day didn't take notice. Then he continued the trek to the top without much effort.

Yeah, he's young but he carries with him a quiet energy that sets him apart from the rest. And with all the characters in BMX, that is tough to do. Learn more about Redman's secret weapon at KNBC Los Angeles's news website. Click here to view the future of BMX – now!

Round of pushups before climbing the set of stairs anyone?
