Bennett and Kintner add to Olympic qualifying totals

thumb_bennetthelmet.jpg Sixty some motos later and the 2nd annual USA Cycling National Championships are complete. Free Agent's Kyle Bennett and GT's Jill Kintner won the Elite classes and added a few extra points to their Olympic totals. Hyper/HP's Donny Robinson, who sits 44 points behind Bennett in the USAC Olympic points standings, was 3rd. Formula's Arielle Martin came within a couple of feet of Kintner scoring the 2ndd and the two are now separated by a mere 2 points.

With two UCI Supercross events (worth 16pts for a win) and the Worlds (worth 24pts for a win) left on the USAC Olympic point matrix, Bennett needs only 13 points to secure the first Olympic position. The women, on the other grip, will go down to the wire with Kintner, Martin and Geving all still very much in contention.

Martin (15) and Kintner (33) split wins in Florida but Kintner took the USAC National Championship. A 2-point difference is all that separates the two. Who will pull it off in Australia?
