Rich Montalvo featured in Broadcast Engineering Magazine

October 29, 2007 by BMXNEWS.COM Editors

thumb_richfocus.jpgIn 2005 while Rich was working for ISTV as the head production manager, he purchased a digital video recording unit from a company called Focus Enhancements ( www.focusinfo.com ). At the NBL Spring break national in Orlando Rich broke one of the units and sent it in for service. After hearing that Rich was using the unit for BMX racing the marketing department from Focus Enhancements put in a call for an interview. The interview went well and a two page case study was created and featured on the Company's website. Which can be viewed as a PDF here. (Editors Note: You may know Richie Rich from BMXVideo.net)

Later, Broadcast Engineering ( http://broadcastengineering.com ) heard of
this case study and wanted to do a feature on the product and it's use in
the Extreme Sport of BMX Racing.
Rich was contacted by the editor and gave a more detailed account of his use
with the product and a little info on BMX Racing in general.

About Rich:
Many people may remember Rich as the founder of BMXvideo.net which was
launched in 2000 and was the first website to post a BMX race on the
internet. BMXvideo.net was online from 2000 to 2005 and provided BMX racers
all over the world with main event videos from racing all across the United
States and a few UCI World Championships. At the height of its popularity
the site was getting an average of 55,000 unique visitors a month. The site
was shut down in February of 2005 when Rich took the job of production
manager for ISTV. In Novemeber of 2005 Rich left ISTV and the company
shortly after ceased operations in BMX racing.

From 2004 to 2007 Rich has also produced the Florida State Highlights video.
The highlight video is a 45 minute compilation of all Florida State races.
Along with this highlight video Rich also posts all Florida Qualifier Main
events to the Florida bmx video gallery ( www.floridabmx.com ).

Currently Rich is doing a lot of video work for www.go211.com the latest
video website to enter BMX racing. All mains and highlight videos from the
NBL Grands were edited by Rich. Interbike coverage was also edited and
posted by Rich to the go211 website. And recently the UCI Qualifier in
Boulder City Nevada was covered by him and videos from that event are also
on the website.
