thumb_fmf_logo.jpg FMF factory Report >> The team headed to Reno with high hopes having most riders going to be there and just finished doing good up in Canada. Then as the Glissmeyer family gets on the flight to Reno, Wyatt and Chance start getting sick. They get into Reno Friday morning and end up spending the next 2 days in bed. Zeb was doing better and practiced on Friday but then came down with it Friday night so all three missed Saturday’s race. Cassie was off to Louisville and the UCI and NBL Grands race so we were already down one rider on the team sheet and with the Glissmeyers out we only had four riders on the sheet Saturday.

Drew Mechielsen stepped right up, as usual and tripled winning open, class and cruiser. Hayden Mechielsen had some tough luck and just missed making the main. Then Josh Klatman stepped up and won Cruiser and took 3rd in 16 Expert. Dan Bushnell also kept it going with a win in the 51-55 Cruiser class. We only had 3 finishes on the team sheet but had pretty good results with what we had.

Then Sunday came and the Glissmeyers were back to life and ready to give it their best. Chance and Wyatt both had no practice on the track but attacked as best they could just getting out of the sick bed. Chance came up with a 7th in 9 and under cruiser. Not bad for a 7 year old. Then in Class he pulled another 7th place finish. Again not bad for still being weak from being sick and no time on the track. Wyatt only being 4 in the 5 and under inter class didn’t make it but looked good on the track. He will be someone to watch out for next year when he turns 5. Drew continued where she left off Saturday and did a quad this time. Not really a quad but the open class had a gate issue and they had to restart after they had already raced the whole track. She won all 4 times winning the races and also winning a jacket to take home for her class, cruiser and open mains.

Josh again won in Cruiser and in class improved up to 2nd place. As he keeps getting better we have high hopes come Grands time. Hayden improved on Sunday with a 5th in Cruiser but had more bad luck in the semi for class. Dan once again won his class. The team came out better Sunday with a 5th place finish.

While the team was busy in Reno, Cassie Bushnell was in Louisville battling with the Elite Girls class. She made her main both days and pulled off a 8th in the UCI race and a 7th in the NBL Grands.
