Avent/Bombshell Reno Report
It’s Friday the 31st of August and the track looks Awesome, Fast and ready for some great Racing Action.
Greg Leasure, one of our fastest Amateurs is also one of the ABA Track Directors and Designers. Greg had his hand in designing one of the Large Rollers on the end of the 2nd turn as a tribute to the Famous MLR trails in San Diego. (Thanks GREG)
Friday practice went well, as the track got faster as the day and night went on. Bryce (Mr. Polite) Hocking and Kayla Meadows were looking good and ready to come out and Race on Saturday. Tyler Brown and Jarrett Kolich were due to arrive Saturday morning as they were in Kentucky for the UCI NBL Race.
It’s Race day here, Saturday morning and the track is looking sweet. Waiting for our Pro’s to show up at the track to get their race on, we find out that 5 AA PRO’s (Tyler Brown, Jarrett Kolich, Brandon Meadows, Danny C, and Travis Arasda) all flew in on time but missing their Bikes and Gear Bags. What a sight to see 5 PRO’s scrambling to borrow Bikes and Gear just to race their 1st round.
Hearing the news Buffy from Avent/Bombshell and Jeremy from Fly Racing gathered up all the Luggage tickets from all the Pro’s that were missing their Bikes and Gear. They headed off to the Airport in the Avent/Bombshell Box Van to pick up all the bags that were due to arrive on a later flight. Picture this, a “BIG BOX VAN†that has the word (BOMBshell) all over it pulling up to the front of the airport and wanting to park there. (A big No No) Jeremy from FLY jumps out of the truck and finds a Police Officer and lets him know the situation we are in. He then waves Buffy over to park the Beast at the curb so we could get in and out quickly with all the Bikes and Bags. (We couldn’t let the PRO’s down) After getting inside and talking with the Police Officer we find out that he is an Avid MTN Biker. Relating to our situation the Police Officer stuck with us and helped us to his best ability. A BIG SHOUT OUT to him for helping us and getting us on our way. After waiting for at least 45 min to an Hour we finally are heading out of the airport and back to the truck to load it up. Everything went so smooth that the 5 Bike less Pro’s had their gear and bikes in time for the 2nd round. What a way to start of the Morning
Tyler and Jarrett had to share the Display (Avent TR7) complete bike. Jarrett faired the best in round 1 with a third, as Tyler struggled all day in Class but took a 6th in Pro Cruiser. Good job Tyler. Jarrett on the other hand put it all together to take 2nd in AA PRO on Saturday.
Our 2 new Amateurs Bryce (Mr. Polite) Hocking took home a 3rd in 14 Cruiser and 6th in 14X. Nice job Bryce and Welcome to the Avent/Bombshell Family.Â
Kayla Meadows had a great day in the 15 girls taking 7th place in her 1st National in over a year. Nice Job Kayla and Welcome back to the Avent/Bombshell Team.
Day 2 of the Black Jack Nationals has come and gone. It was filled with great racing as Jarrett Kolich took charge early, and had a great day overall taking 3rd in AA PRO. Great weekend and payday for Jarrett with 2 Podiums. It wasn’t as good for Tyler Brown in Class but in Cruiser he took 5th place. Good job Tyler.Â
Bryce (Mr. Polite) Hocking bettered his scores from Saturday to Sunday with a 6th in 14X and a 2nd in 14 Cruiser. Good job Bryce and way to start your new ride with Avent/Bombshell. Kayla had a rough day and is looking forward to her next National.
