Hilliard, Ohio – August 15, 2007: America’s most exciting Championship BMX race will take over the Derby City BMX Track in Louisville, Kentucky from August 31 to September 2. The 30th Anniversary of the NBL Grand National comes complete with an exciting blend of intense race action, awards presentations, entertainment, contests, and culminates with the highly-anticipated crowning of the 2007 National Champions.
The 30th NBL Grand National is much more than just a race – it’s an ‘Experience’ and to celebrate the 30th Anniversary, all Amateur #1’s will receive a commemorative Championship award. All NBL National Champions will get their 15 seconds of fame on the Grands podium and their photos will grace the pages of BMX Today Magazine. Be sure to stop by the NBL Booth and pick up a fresh copy of BMX Today which includes a special ‘Grands’ pullout and find out the details on the top guns, challengers and browse through the 2008 New product section.
To further celebrate the 30th year of the NBL Grand National, all registered riders will receive a souvenir NBL Grands pennant – our way of saying ‘thanks’ to everyone who will spend their Labor Day weekend with us. Fans can also pick up a ‘limited edition’ NBL poster and decorate it with signatures from their favorite pros during the pro autograph sessions. BAWLS will be hosting a BAWLS ‘Bounce’ Bunnyhop contest and during the breaks between the Elite Spectacular rounds and you might even get a chance to win a complete bike in the Intense ‘Build-A-Bike’ contest.
The ‘Grands Experience’ will also feature a 2008 UCI Continental race on Friday afternoon and an Elite Spectacular for the Elite, Junior, Super-Ex and Masters classes on Saturday afternoon. The NBL will showcase the Elite Series classes during the Elite Spectacular on Saturday afternoon and the ‘pumped-up’ show will include special music, contests, and the presentation of more than $40,000 in prize money. For anyone not able to attend, you’ll get to see the action from the comfort of your computer screen through the ‘LIVE’ Webcast at BMXTVDIRECT.
