The International Cycling Union is pleased to invite you on Wednesday 6 June 2007, at 11 am, to the presentation of the new WCC BMX Olympic track, in Aigle, which will be tested by some of the best current riders, including Sifiso Nhlapo (South Africa), 2005 Junior World Champion and Vilma Rimsaite (Lithuania), 2005 European Champion.
The presentation will last approximately one hour and a meal will be provided for the journalists present.

The WCC BMX track, which has recently been modified, is the only replica in the world of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games circuit. It will be used as a training venue for the best riders from this discipline.
Its 8 m high starting ramp, followed by two individual straight stretches (men and women), allows athletes to go at unaccustomed speeds, making their performances even more spectacular.
BMX, a discipline governed by the UCI, will appear for the first time in history on the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games programme.
BMX has more than 80,000 licence-holders throughout the world.
The average age of participants at the UCI World Championships is 18, and the future of the discipline is guaranteed since the average age of those practising it is 14.
