Double A Marketing – NBL Golden State National, Prunedale, CA
Round 8 of the 2007 NBL Elite Series took place this past weekend on the West Coast in Prunedale, CA. One of the last chances for the Pros to gain points towards the NBL year end title and the UCI North American Chase, it was a big weekend for the guys. The NBL title chase has been a good one this season With a few stand out riders, but come towards end of the year, it looks like 5 riders are all bunched up with a shot at the title. The NBL National at South Park will be the last event before the Grands and it soul be very exciting. Here is how the BMXpros.com guys finished up:
Kyle Bennett has had an incredible return from his knee surgery as he has won a lot of races. Kyle had some catching up to do if he wanted to have a shot at the NBL title, and his performance at Prunedale was a fine indication of his determination to recapture the NBL #1 Plate. On Saturday, Kyle won the stacked Elite Class Main event and finishing 2nd in Elite Open. On Sunday, Kyle backed up his win with a 2nd place in Elite Men's and Elite Open. This puts Kyle right up toward the top of the standing, still needed to add one more score. South Park will be a huge weekend for Kyle on his quest for a NBL title. Kyle's sponsors include Free Agent, KHS, Fly Racing, Bombshell, www.bmxtraining.com, Sun Rims, Shimano, UGP, Kenda, Thomson, S & M bars, ODI, ORP, Powerbar, Cyto Sport, and BMXpros.com.
Randy Stumpfhauser has always been a threat at Prunedale for a win, and at the years NBL National, it was business as usual for the old Stump Dog. On Sunday, Randy smoked the Elite Men's main event, grabbing another huge win in the 2007 NBL National Series. Randy now sits in the 5 man battle for the NBL title but with a chance at both the NBL and ABA title, it will be a big decision for him on what races to attend in the next few months. Randy's sponsors include GT Bicycles, Kenda, SINZ Racing, ODI, Tangent, Sun Rims, Bombshell, Fly Racing, Powerbar, CTI Knee Braces, OGIO, SDG, SRAM, Cyto Sport, and BMXpros.com.
Brandon Meadows has been on a streak of some impressive results and Prunedale was no exception. On Saturday, Brandon gathered up some more valuable UCI points with a 5th place finish in the main event. Consistently in the main event, Brandon has made the full return from what many said would be a career ending injury and he looks to keep moving forward. Brandon's Sponsors include Intense BMX, Socko Energy Drinks, SINZ Racing, THE Products, Fly Racing, Shimano, Power Bar, Intense Tire Systems, Cyto Sport, OGIO, Thomson Seat Posts, and BMXpros.com
Cristian Becerine has had a great NBL season so far, as he currently leads the Pro title chase. Cristian was looking to add some points this weekend, but an 8th and 5th in Elite Pro didn't help his scores at all. Cristian has always done well at South park and the Grands, so it will be an interesting few events for him as he works towards his first NBL #1 Pro title. Cristian's Sponsors include: Free Agent, Answer, Kenda, THE Products, ODI, Sun Ringle, Shimano, Powerbar, Cyto Sport, OGIO, Oakley, Thomson Seat Posts, and BMXpros.com
Joey Bradford is just plain fast and he wont slow down anytime soon. Once again, Joey was unbeatable in the Junior Elite Class, winning both days with some large margins. On Sunday, Joey raced Elite Open as well and placed 5th. Looks like Joey is getting real comfortable with the Elite men and a few pros should start to worry when he makes the jump in age to race Elite men. Joey’s sponsors include GT Bicycles, Fly Racing, Oakley, Bombshell, THE Products, Sun Ringle, Kenda, SDG, FSA, Sponsorhouse, ODI, Powerbar, Cyto Sport, Circle E, SRAM, Kore, OGIO, Sirius, Pearl Izumi, joeybradford.com, and BMXpros.com
