Beast “Tina Hayer” Interview

May 1, 2007 by BMXNEWS.COM Editors

beast_mirror.jpgSuper Girl "Beast Tina Hayer" isn't new to the race circuit. She has been running the nick-name "Beast" for as long as we can remember and even has it tattooed on her back. Please don't get her confused with Alise "The Beast" Post. Tina is the original "Beast". We've known "Beast" for a long time and shes one of a kind. There's a wild side that most of you at the races never get to see from Tina.

"I don't think there are many girls that enjoy pole dancing that much."

"Beast" is exactly the opposite of her competition and we love her for that. Continue reading into the life of "Beast" Tina Hayer.

You go the name “Beast.” How does a girl get this name? Shouldn’t you be called cupcake or something? Whats your real name?
My real name is Tina Hayer. I've actually been riding trails longer than I've been racing, and somewhere in the beginning of my trail riding career, I earned the nickname Beast from showing up the local guys.

How long have you been racing? Where did you start?
I have been racing for 8 years. I started at Richmond BMX in Gillies Creek Park.

Hows your racing going? You race the East Coast Nationals on a regular basis.
I'm not racing a lot of nationals this season, so I can spend more time on practicing skills and getting smoother on the track. Next season I want to do as many nationals as possible.

Many years ago, You used to hang out at the Schwinn Tent. Did you have a twinkle in your eye for Travis Turreson?
No. Back when I used to hang out around there, it was one of my first seasons racing Supergirls and was hard to keep track of the motos, so I just figured that when they got up to go race, my moto was right after theirs and I wouldn't miss my moto.

Your occupation is unique for an Elite Woman on the race circuit. What exactly do you do?

I am an exotic dancer at a gentleman's club.

beast_woodward.jpg Do you think you’re the first girl to turn a road sign pole at Woodward into a dancing pole?
Definitely. I don't think there are many girls that enjoy pole dancing that much.

Is it hard to dance with cuts and road rash from BMX Crashes?

It hurts a lot. Sometimes I tear open abrasions and start bleeding on stage, but no one usually notices except me, but then I have to clean the pole and stage.

Have any boyfriends? Do they race?
Yes, I have a boyfriend. He does not race.

By looking at your MySpace, you come across as a bizarre chick. Most of us don’t know the real you behind the helmet. Are you sweet and innocent and really play with puzzles?

I'm sometimes sweet and innocent, but not very often. Sometimes I get tired of being near other people and that's when I'll just stay in my apartment and assemble a puzzle. I just recently assembled a 1500 piece Van Gogh puzzle. The real me is a bit of a longer story.

If you wanted to take an AA Pro home with you, Who would it be?
I don't really have any crushes on any of them, but if I wanted to take one home with me, it'd probably be Kyle Bennett because he's fast and I'd like to know how to go that fast.

Have any future plans on the BMX Track? Hitting more races? Are you sponsored?

My future plans for the track are start practicing for once, ride more trails, and go to more Elite and UCI races. I am recently sponsored by two local companies out of Richmond. Getloaded.com and Easten Heating and Air Conditioning.

Thanks Beast! We all need to see one of your shows!
