“Team Staats will be very busy in the New Year. I can now confirm that all of the eight Team Staats (AUS) riders will be at the Nerang Nationals next month racing for the very first time as a team. And as it turns out Alexandra Williams, Kane Barry, & Wyatt Clinch, – all Kiwi Staats team riders, will also be making the trip across to the Gold Coast to join them. Im certain of one thing & that is that Staats Bicycles will be well represented at the first major race meeting of the New Year.”"The Nerang Nationals is one of the larger races on the Australian calendar & this time around the race will be even bigger as it is not only a UCI ranking round but BMXA Champbikx & Probikx rounds also. 2007 is the first season of Probikx & this series promises to be a highly entertaining & fiercely competitive one. Tim Ferguson (Elite Men) & Josh Webb (Junior Men) have been in fine form of late with solid performances at the recent New Zealand Titles in New Plymouth. Tim & Josh finished 4th & 2nd respectively in UCI racing & although early in the season both are in a good position with an 8th (tied) & 4th place in the (Oceanic region) overall standings. Kevin Watson & Madison Janssen will be racing on their home track & should have the rub of the green (or is that brown?) & therefore be hot favourites to win their respective classes. Staats Bicycles will also have a strong presence at the Toowoomba Open in February, reportedly Australias richest race with over $3000 on offer for the Pros. Staats is to be the naming sponsor of the special event for 10 Boys The Staats Bicycles Tens. According to event coordinator Kent Elliot, the 10 Boys class has one of the highest rider counts & is an extremely competitive class.
