CT State Championship

This past weekend was the CT state Championship race held in Meridan Ct. It was also the final for the 2006 Weekend Warrior series. The series was held at two tracks Falcon in Meridan and Foothills in Torrington. The crireria was points given to top eight in the main events and your best two races from each track plus the finals. In the main it was Steve Oldham out front with Pistol Pete Lorenzo in second followed by Matt Markie in third.”That is the way they finished for the day and for the year. Steve won over $1000 plus a new Standard 125R frame for his effort. Also that day was the CT state trophy dash race. This is were each track in the state picks one rider (ages 15 or 16) to represent the track. This year it was Justin Markie for Meridan, Anthony Delvento for Bethel, Tucker Schaffer for Trumbull, and Ty Johnson for Torringtons Foothills. The race was a two rider shootout between Justin Markie and Ty Johnson. In the end Ty Johnson came out the winner. With the season over all we can do here in the Nutmeg state is look forward to close nationals and next May openeing season in CT.
