August 25, 2006 by BMXNEWS.COM Editors

“As you may have heard, I, Pete Dylewski, am running for a spot for the newly formed USA Cycling BMX board, BMXA. I would love to have the opportunity to do what is best for the sport of BMX and think that I can be unbiased and help towards all aspects of making BMX better for everyone involved. Its all about the sport we love and I want to be there to make BMX better. If you are an holder of a USA Cycling BMX license, I urge you to take the time to set up your profile if you have not done so on www.usacycling.org and vote in this ever so important election.”"As you may have heard, I, Pete Dylewski, am running for a spot for the newly formed USA Cycling BMX board, BMXA. I would love to have the opportunity to do what is best for the sport of BMX and think that I can be unbiased and help towards all aspects of making BMX better for everyone involved. Its all about the sport we love and I want to be there to make BMX better. If you are an holder of a USA Cycling BMX license, I urge you to take the time to set up your profile if you have not done so on www.usacycling.org and vote in this ever so important election. I feel I would be a great addition to this board and hopefully you will feel the same way and cast a vote for myself. I would be honored if you did so and if elected, I will be open to discussion on any subject important to the growth and improvement to BMX racing. Please review my open letter to USA cycling BMX members, that appears on usacycling.org First, I would like to thank the Pro Riders who felt that I would be a valuable asset to the sport of BMX Racing with the nomination toward the BMXA Board of Trustees. I have been involved in BMX for over 20 years and have established deep roots in BMX racing and the cycling industry. I discovered the sport of BMX at age 11 and have first hand experience of all levels of the sport. I started as a consumer then went on to be an amateur racer, team manager, running my own BMX marketing firm and now I oversee marketing for one of the biggest movers in BMX today. I have been a licensed member of both the ABA and NBL since 1982. I have had the privilege to be involved with BMX at its highest, but I have also been there in the transition periods too. I have been traveling the world for BMX races for the past 18 years and feel that I have the experience and knowledge of all aspects of BMX racing. I have also had extensive dealings with Pro and Amateur riders, as well as the inner workings of the ABA, NBL, and UCI. I also interact well with many companies within the industry and I feel I have a solid understanding of all sides of BMX racing today. Helping move the sport of BMX racing in the right direction, with input for riders, the industry, and current leaders in BMX, as well as offering new and fresh ideas are key factors that I hope to be able to add. We need to be open to all types of ideas, but in the end listen to the people who live and love the sport of BMX racing. These are some of the values that I would like to bring to the BMXA if elected to the Board. I look forward to the opportunity of serving the USA BMX community and I promise to do my best to keep BMX racing heading in the right direction and do the best job I can. If you have any questions for me please feel free to email me at peted@bmxpros.com Sincerely, Pete Dylewski”
