DC HOSTS THE SECOND ANNUAL SPRINT TRAILS RACE

April 10, 2006 by BMXNEWS.COM Editors

“Vista, CA DC Shoes announced today that it will host the 2006 Sprint Trails Race, marking the second consecutive year the company has sponsored and organized the event. A BMX race DC spearheaded in 2005, the highly anticipated event will take place once again in Sanger, California on April 29, 2006. Last year was great! This year were stepping it up and trying make the track a little faster, and trying to put the MX back in BMX, said DC BMX Team Manager Dwayne Taylor, referring to Sprint Trails track being more technical than a typical BMX track.”"The Sprint Trails Race was designed and conceptualized to be a fun, laid-back race for professional riders. Although the event has no bearing on national points, the Sprint Trails Race is unique in that its a showcase of the best of the best in BMX and a great opportunity for those riders to go head-to-head in a pressure free event. Last years race, which was won by Randy Stumpfhauser, received a great deal of exposure from the riders, spectators, and media alike. A flat pedal event, the Sprint Trails course features a groomed, technical two-lane course with tight corners and little room for error. The 2006 Sprint Trails Race will include an eight-foot roll in at the starting gates and a trail style course, ensuring virtually no pedaling for the competitors once they drop in. Dwayne continued, Since DC makes shoes ideal for flat pedal riding, the obvious way for us to support racing is by having a flat pedal event like Sprint Trails. There will be no advantage to clipping-in on this course; its purely the riders skills that are going to earn the win. The event is coming up quick and there is an open invite for Pros. Please contact Dwayne Taylor (dtaylor@dcshoes.com) for directions, more information, and to enter.”
