FMF Pasco Report
The FMF BMX team headed to Pasco and showed up in force. Before getting there it was starting to look like we could be in trouble as Josh Klatman almost didnt go because he came down with the flu the week of Pasco. As Thursday came his temperature broke and the Klatmans made the trip. Josh then went through the weekend having some rough luck on his cruiser with a 7th and 8th place finish. On the 20 inch he did a little better with a 3rd on Saturday and 2nd on Sunday. Just wait until he has a strong and healthy week.Dan Bushnell was feeling pretty good until someone went down right in front of him in practice on Saturday morning and he went down on his ribs. He said it only hurt when he would breath so he would hold his breath and go for it. Saturday he came home with the win and after a close battle on Sunday he got a 2nd place finish. A couple days later Dan found that he has a broken rib so will be out for awhile now. Nick Berger after missing a lot of last year due to injuries has been coming on and looking good. Saturday he pull off a win in Cruiser and followed that up Sunday with a 6th. Class had some tough luck and he just missed getting into his mains. Then with this race being up in Washington the Canada crew made the trip to complete a good strong team. Rosemary Adams showed up strong after missing Reno this year she wanted to show us what we missed. To show us she powered through with a double double. She was out front all weekend and it is looking like she could be the girl in the class that will be tough all year long. Then the Mechielsen duo of Drew and Hayden completed us and made us proud. Drew continued off where she left off last year as she led her class all weekend. She even got a 1st place finish on Friday in Cruiser. Not bad for an 8 year old in the 10 and under cruiser class. She then also got a 4th on her cruiser on Saturday and switched to open on Sunday and won that. She also won both days in class. Hayden had a little rougher time but brought home a 4th both days in Cruiser. In class he was looking good but came up just short of the main both days. This year the team picked up Girl Pro Cassie Bushnell and she was looking pretty fast. Cassie is an honor student at University of Washington and still finds time to train and ride. She had moments of looking real good and came home with some pro money after finishing with a 5th on Saturday and 4th on Sunday. In the team competition we had the finishes but just didnt have the group counts for the top finishes. We did come home with a 5th on Saturday and 4th on Sunday. We would like to thank our sponsors FMF (www.fmfbmx.com) and Fly Racing (www.flyracingbmx.com). Its great to have some of the best in bikes and parts I have ever ridden and of course looking good with the Fly leathers and safe with the Fly 606 helmets.
