January 3, 2006 by BMXNEWS.COM Editors

“MADISON, Wis. Jan. 3, 2005 Mongoose Bicycles proudly announces the Dirt, Vert and Street riders on the 2006 BMX Team. Simon Tabron A pro since 1990, Simon Tabron has been a man on fire, scorching one Vert ramp after the next. His fluid and bold style has served him well, and hes known for his consistent 900s and his willingness to push himself to new limits. The riding that I like the most is when I am riding above my own ability, progressing into new territory, said Tabron. It’s always good to surprise and scare yourself!”"Simon scared everyone in the summer of 2005 when a fall at the Denver stop of the Dew Action Sports Tour put him in the hospital for weeks. Amazingly, he came back to the ramp only two months later and took 3rd place at the San Jose Dew Action Sports Tour stop. It was really hard coming back from this injury, the worst injury of my life, mentally and physically, said Tabron. To come back and place third was amazing. Simons career highlights are nothing short of impressive. Among them: 2003-2005 BMX Freestyle Worlds – Vert: 1st 2005 Mobile Skatepark Series, Cincinnati: 1st 2004 LG Action Sports Championships U.S Championships of BMX – Vert: Silver Medalist 2004 X Games – Vert: Silver Medalist 2004 & 2003 Soul Bowl England – Vert: 3rd 2003 Gravity Games – Vert: Bronze Medalist 2003 Bike 2003, UK – Vert: 1st 2003 X Games Global Championships – Vert: 4th 2002 Gravity Games – Vert: Gold Medalist 2002 Bike 2002, UK – Vert: 2nd 2002 & 2001 Euro X, Barcelona – Vert: Gold Medalist Simons a character in Mat Hoffmans Pro BMX 2 video game My highlights from 2005 were retaining the World Championship title and probably the strength of my comeback from the worst injury of my life. I was happy about all the contests that I won but the comeback definitely stands out to me, personally. Simons goals for 2006 are to progress further with his riding and hopefully loosen Jamie Bestwick’s grip on the top spot. In 2006, Simons riding the Mongoose Shield, formerly known as the RAF. I’ll be competing in Vert at the X Games, the World Championships, the Dew Tour and whatever else comes along! said Tabron. Stevie McCann Australian Street and Dirt rider Steve McCann had a shorter season than usual in 2005, suffering a nasty broken wrist. Prior to the injury, though, Stevie managed a 2nd-place in street at the Dew Action Sports Tour in Louisville, Ken., a 4th-place in Street and Dirt at the Dew Action Sports Tour in Portland, Ore. and a 5th-place at the X Games in Los Angeles. McCann spends most of his time training at Camp Woodward (East), and says he loves riding for Mongoose. I love Mongoose and Ive been there now for five years and feel at home, said McCann. I can’t wait to see what the future holds here. Stevies goals for 2006? To be right back on top of things after breaking my wrist … I have a new drive, said McCann. Breaking my wrist and having time off has just motivated me to win again. Stevies riding the Fraction in 06, formerly known as the McCann. With a renewed vigor and chip on his shoulder, look for McCann to kill it at the Dew Action Sports Tour, X Games, Gravity Games and the LG Action Sports Tour in 2006. Cameron White This Australian BMX Dirt master turned pro in 2003 and loves to ride. Its so much fun, its always a challenge and without my bike I probably would be lying in a ditch somewhere, joked White. His 2005 highlights? My 2nd-place finishes at the Dew Tour Dirt comps in Denver and Louisville, Kentucky; a 2nd at Vans Let it Ride Dirt Jam; pulling a triple tailwhip; and earning 3rd overall for the Dew Tour Dirt Jump season behind two unbelievable bike riders, good mates and fellow Aussies. And how does he feel about riding for Mongoose? Its the best thing that has ever happened to me, said White. The people I get to work with are awesome. I couldnt be happier. In 2006 Cams riding the Legion, formerly known as the Fuzz Pro model. I love it, the geometry of the frame is perfect for me and its designed by a BMX Legend. Look for Cam competing primarily in Dirt and a little street in 2006. Tim Fuzzy Hall Fuzzy is the Godfather of Dirt Jumping a living legend and a Mongoose stalwart. A Pro since1989, Fuzzy is a father, he runs two bike shops, builds the dirt courses that so many competitions are held on, runs bike initiatives at Ogio Bags and facilitates media opportunities for Team Mongoose. Plus hes a five-time U.S. King of Dirt title holder, hes had 17 worldwide cover shots, has held the U.K. King of Dirt title Fuzzys a busy guy and hes psyched to call Mongoose home for nearly 17 years. I have a huge history at this company, said Hall, and I believe in the honesty and integrity of such a relationship. Were proud to have such an icon as Fuzzy Hall continue to fly the Mongoose flag. Congratulations to all the Mongoose athletes for 2006. Have a great year, guys.”
