Hyper Summer update

June 21, 2005 by BMXNEWS.COM Editors

“The Hyper/Tangent team rolled for the start to the summer tour and it has started off great! The first two team races were both ABA races and the team came in with the momentum of winning 4 “”A”" Nationals in a row. In New Mexico the team was very short handed with only 3 riders plus the big man “”CC Hightower”" was there to keep them focused. The New Mexico track threw in some challenges with the track being short and the jumps being super tight, but the New Hyper Assault Frames can handle anything you throw it’s way! Abbe, Kerley, Kobza all walked away with wins in class both days.”"Pushing Kobza to the #4 slot and Kerley to the #5 slot on the ABA top amateur list! From there the riders headed to “”The Rock”" to meet up with the rest of the team. As always the Rockford track was awesome and was only made better by the perfect weather. The largest Hyper team of the year was tuned and running strong. By end of the weekend the team racked up 18 wins and numerous top 3′s. The standouts of the weekend had to be Abbe 9x winning 3 out of 4 mains, Kerley winning 11-12 open on day 2, DeRosa coming over for the rare ABA appearance and winning 10x both days, Kobza has been at top performance and won both days in 13x and has taken over the #1position in the amateur title hunt. McDow finally turned on his blinkers and got things going on Sunday in 16x moving him closer to that NAG 5 challenge, Kubalak had some trouble this weekend after his outstanding performance in Roseville, but still managed to walk out with a win in the hard 13-14 open. Post, what more can be said about a woman that is just flat out killing her competition. She has only lost 3 races since this race last year and this weekend would be no different with 6 out of 6. A question that has to be on everyone’s mind is when will she turn pro??? Speaking of turning Pro did anyone happen to notice if Mike Lundy turned? Well, if not, go watch ISTV.com. Mike Lundy not only turned pro but crushed his class winning every single lap that he rode in all 16 races. Look for Lundy to make his NBL debut next weekend in Evansville! HYPER would like to congratulate Bob “”The Godfather”" O’Gorman for taking care of business winning the BS Stops Here Open. O-G the bragging rights are yours all year long!! We will keep you posted all summer long on the Hyper/Tangent tour.”
