FMF Factory team report from Salt Lake

May 30, 2005 by BMXNEWS.COM Editors

The Wonder Woman of the FMF factory team (Drew Mechielsen) powered herself to 2 more decisive wins in the 7 girls class at Salt Lake. She also finished the open class with a couple 3rd place finishes. Then Rosemary Adams continued on after being bumped up to 17 and over girls then coming unclipped as the gate dropped she clipped right back in and powered through the pack to a 3rd place finish.”With the speed she was going through the pack the 2 leaders were lucky she had the bad gate or she could have led the group. Then on Sunday she had a 16 girls class and powered to a strong 1st place finish. She also competed with her cruiser but had some bad luck ending up with a 6th and 3rd place finish. We look for her to keep on improving. Dan Bushnell (50yr old cruiser) came through with a 4th on Saturday followed by 3rd on Sunday. The old cruisers were filled with some really tough competition, but was a lot of fun with people battling and changing positions all the way around the track. Hayden Mechielsen pulled through with a 2nd in cruiser and 5th in class on Saturday then a 3rd in cruiser and got tangled in the semi and missed the main in class on Sunday. Another good performance by him and he just keeps looking faster every time I see him. Watch for Hayden to continue being a real threat in the 9X and cruiser class. Josh Klatman came to Salt Lake to get some good finishes and Saturday pulled through with a strong 2nd in class and some bad luck in cruiser kept him back in 5th. Then on Sunday he had a tough day getting tangled up in the semi for class and missing his main and in cruiser was in 2nd place when he threw a chain and went down. We are having a talk with his mechanic. Hell be back and tough throughout the year. Also in 13X with Josh we had Brian Weatherly, he got in some tough spots and missed his mains on Saturday then Sunday came back to improve and did just that. Sunday he pulled off a 4th in the tough 13X class”
