"October 27, 1992 Early Sheep Session

Actual Journal Entry:
Rode around in the morn to get job applications. Didnt get any, though. Stopped at the P.O.W. house & got a calling card. Then Eric Carter came over with Christophe Leveque & two other French guys. Then Nico Does, Erik Abbadessa, & I went with them to Sheep Hills. We rode with the P.O.W.s there & then went to the P.O.W. house & rode the backyard ramps. Then we set up a 5-ft spine in the street. Its the one that Dave Clymer uses for shows. Its burly! We came back to my house & Eric Carter & I rode to Huntington Beach high school. Erik Big-E Bartoldus & Timmy Strelecki were there also. We all had a good street session. Came back home & chilled with the French guys."

Looking Back Now:
I sure did put in a good effort to get a job, huh? Im sure that I really didnt want to work at Dominoes or the grocery store anyway. I was living with Bill Grad & Todd Steen in a two-bedroom apartment at the time. So rent was only like $180/month. And I didnt have any car payments to make on my 1971 postal Jeep. Actually, Ive never had a car payment. I remember that we would always happen to come across these calling cards.

Some of the BMX guys from NY would just happen upon them and let us use them when they came out to Cali to ride. Remember, this was WAY before anyone had cell phones. So wed go to different payphones and use these cards to make all of our long distant calls. And we obviously never saw the bill. Who paid for these calls? You got me. Im pretty sure that this was one of Christophes first trips to the USA. Thats pretty funny that he was at the P.O.W. house riding the backyard ramps. And I was going street riding with Eric Carter & Big E! My, how things change. -www.TODDLYONS.com"
