“ESPN, Inc. and AEG today announce that the 11th annual X Games will be held in and around Los Angeles for a third consecutive year. Primary venues include AEG owned and operated Home Depot Center in Carson and STAPLES Center in downtown Los Angeles, as well as Long Beach Marine Stadium. The event is scheduled for August 4-7, 2005.”"The annual X Games is the premier action sports event in the world and showcases more than 150 of the world’s top athletes competing in Bike Stunt, Moto X, Skateboard, Surfing and Wakeboard. X Games 11 will be telecast live on ESPN and ABC. For 2005, the Home Depot Center will host an increased number of X Games competitions, while other events will return to STAPLES Center. Wakeboard will continue to be held at Long Beach Marine Stadium. Additional venues and ticket sales information will be announced on a later date. Last year’s X Games 10, which aired completely live for the first time, delivered record average viewership, shattering X Games Nine’s (2003) household average (the previous record) by 47% according to Nielsen Media Research. The event also reached record highs in several major demographic categories. On-site attendance over the four-day event totaled 170,471.”
