“PALMDALE, Calif., March 25, 2005 Tomorrow, Palmdale resident Bubba Harris will receive a Hyundai Santa Fe for winning the American Bicycle Association (ABA) Pro Championship. Hyundai is the official automobile of the ABA and the major sponsor of the ABA National Series. At 19 years old, Harris is the sports youngest professional BMX rider in 20 years to win the No. 1 ABA Pro title, and the second youngest ever to receive the honor.”"Its a great feeling to have earned this title and this new vehicle, said Harris. The Santa Fe will be especially helpful as I travel with my family across the country to other competitions. After Harris mother, Anita, passed away in 2003 from a two-year battle with cancer, he wore her name on the back of his jersey during competitions. With his father and three sisters watching, Harris turned his race jersey around during the awards ceremony to show the world he had won the championship in honor of Anita. Harris Santa Fe will be delivered at 1:00 p.m. by Rally Hyundai, located at 438 Auto Vista Drive in Palmdale. We are proud to present Mr. Harris with this new Hyundai Santa Fe, said Eric Prothro, general manager of Rally Hyundai. His accomplishments at such a young age are truly inspirational. The ABA Pro Title winner is selected based on performance in 27 National Series competitions throughout the year, with more than 200 of the worlds top BMX riders competing in the championship. Harris was crowned the ABAs pro champion for the 2004 season after accumulating 13 wins and placing second in 14 events.
