FACTORY HYPER / NO FEAR ROCKING THE MID WEST
“Carlsbad, California Hyper / No Fear team manager TJ Johnson has been all over the mid west this winter conducting clinics and managing the team to an early lead in the ABA Factory points chase to match NBL team manager Anthony Derosas NBL National Team points lead.”"The dual sanction team points lead is something that BMX hasnt seen in years. Johnson started the Midwest swing off with a bang with an impromptu clinic at Rehbeins Arena indoor BMX facility in Lino Lakes January 23rd followed by a crowded and well received clinic at Walworth Indoor BMX in Elkhorn, Wisconsin the very next weekend. The Elkhorn clinic featured Hyper team riders Alise The Beast Post, Ben Kubalak, new vet-pro Eric Elliott as well as special guest instructor Mark Melton. The very next Wednesday night, TJ was in Las Cruces, New Mexico spreading the BMX word at Roadrunner BMX before heading to Guthrie, Oklahoma for the ABAs Sooner National. In Guthrie, TJ, Ben Kubalak, Lahsaan Kobza, and Connor Fields, in his first race back since breaking his wrist before Del Mar last year, ran a small team sheet and wound up keeping Hyper at the top of the ABA points standings. Kubalak stood head and shoulders above the rest taking home 3 out of 4 wins in 14 Expert (double) and 13-14 Open. Kobza battled with Sean Lechner and edged him out for a 13 Expert win on Saturday but crashed on Sunday. Connor had a decent 2005 debut taking home a couple podium finishes. TJ was out front on Saturday before getting taken out along with about 10 spokes in his front wheel. He battled back on Sunday with a win in 28-35 Expert. The team scored enough points to keep Hyper at the top of the 2005 Factory heap. Next Factory Hyper / No Fear clinics scheduled: February 12 Desoto,Texas at Metroplex BMX. 12pm to 4pm.
