Woke up kinda early and watched races ALL day and night. Pete Loncaravich won all three of the AA Pro mains & got the #1 title. In his speech, he thanked the POWs! Fresh. The race got over at 9:30pm and we all went back to the hotel & bought beer. A bunch of us were in the English guys room and the security guard busted the door open and told us to leave. So I went to Teresas room later went back to the English room. Teresa snuck into the room with me. We all slept at 5:30am."

Looking Back Now
If youre wondering why I wasnt racing, its because I tore a bunch of ligaments in my ankle the night before in the KOD jump contest. It was the first time I hit the jump and I overshot it by about 10 feet. I remember Jimmy Levan telling me to hit the jump at full speed. I should have known that my full speed was a bit faster than Jimmys full speed.

I also remember that Matt Hoffman hurt his shoulder at the contest and he drove both of us to the hospital. Typical Hoffman, driving himself to the hospital Back then, Pete Loncaravich used to be down with the POWs. We were all psyched when he included us in his speech. He even let us drive his truck (he won for the title) back to Cali. We all used to pile a bunch of us into hotel rooms in order to keep the costs down. Every year, security at the hotel would be stationed on every floor. And every year, there would be all kinds of trouble. Oh, and in case youre wondering who Teresa is, I am too!"
